“It was my great honor, to create the hat which the First Lady, Melania Trump wore while attending the inaugural swearing in ceremony of her husband, the 45th & 47th President of the USA.
Mrs. Trump already owned a gondolier style summer boater from me (a stock style available on my website) that she loved. Using the same sleek shape and double-faced wool to complement her ensemble, I created a re-proportioned winter style made of the same double-faced wool of her outfit.
The hat was shipped from my Atelier in Miami to New York , in time for Mrs. Trump’s final fitting.
Unfortunately this hat was damaged in transit during a severe snow storm. The carton arrived wet and crushed; the hat inside, irreparably damaged.
When I saw the images of the deformed hat, I knew I had to create another, immediately.
In less than four days, I recreated the hat and personally delivered it to Herve Pierre, who took it to the First Lady just in time for the Inauguration.”
