The Eric Javits Squishee® Tote II is a luxury designer bag crafted from patented squishee® straw, leather, recycled fibers. Eric launched the first bag he ever designed, Squishee® Tote for Spring 1998 and it was an extraordinary success. Reflecting on why women embraced it, Eric says, "It was because the style was so simple, a soft lightweight shoulder tote that could be rolled, folded and packed for travel which also matched the Squishee® hat.

Why Squishee®?

Squishee® is Eric Javits' patented man-made material incorporating recycled fibers. It looks and feels like natural raffia straw but is far more durable — it won't crack, splinter, or melt when wet. Lightweight, packable, and built to last season after season.

Squishee Tote II is a straw tote shoulder bag designed for lightweight durability, practical organization, and everyday ease. Relaunched as an updated version of Eric Javits’ first bag design, it keeps the original appeal of Squishee® material while adding thoughtful improvements that make it even more functional.

The bag body is made of Squishee®, a man-made material incorporating recycled fibers that looks and feels like natural raffia while offering superior durability and packability. Unlike natural fiber straw, Squishee® resists cracking, splintering, and melting when wet, making it a reliable choice for regular use and travel. Discreet leather under-handle protectors add reinforcement, and the shoulder-length handle drop keeps the silhouette easy to carry.

A top zipper closure adds security, while the interior is designed to keep essentials organized throughout the day. Inside, you’ll find a side-wall zipper pocket, four patch pockets, and a key clip holder. Measuring 14.75 inches across the top opening, 12 inches high, and 5.75 inches wide at the bottom, Squishee Tote II offers generous storage in a lightweight, durable profile.
