The Eric Javits Squishee® Bel Air is a luxury designer bag crafted from patented squishee® straw, leather, recycled fibers. Mid-size shoulder bag of Squishee® with zip top closure, leather flap, handle and trim converts to a backpack. The outside leather patch pocket on the reverse is convenient for easy access to cell phone or glasses.

Squishee® is Eric Javits' patented man-made material incorporating recycled fibers. It looks and feels like natural raffia straw but is far more durable — it won't crack, splinter, or melt when wet. Lightweight, packable, and built to last season after season.

"This is a great bag for summer, it can be worn three ways, as a shoulder bag, cross body bag, or as a knapsack. It has a lot of pockets; an interior zippered pocket, an external small zippered pocket which is perfect for keys or a phone, the main zippered compartment, and a back non-zippered pocket. The leather is of good quality. The only problem I have had is with the main zipper as it is sometimes hard to get it started where the zipper is at a small bend in the corner. I live in a popular summer tourist location and have already received compliments on the bag by absolute strangers!"

Purse Yes!! Backpack Meh

"This a great bag that hits the sweet spot of being casual enough for shorts and sophisticated enough for a linen dress, It is roomy enough for everything I typically carry and the outside pockets are great for easy access to your phone. I thought the backpack straps would be a plus for traveling, but alas my shoulders are too narrow - the straps slip off making it unusable as a backpack. I wish there were a way to adjust them to work - I'll keep looking for a work-around. That is the reason for the 4 stars rather than 5. That being said, I still love it as a handbag !"

Elevated handbag for summer days or nights! Just love it!

"I love this bag! The squishee color is a pretty wheat color and the leather strap and flap are a beautiful shade of caramel. The bottom is sturdy and not tippy. Open the flap and you can zip the bag if you wish. 2 wide pockets, one on either side can fit a cell phone or sunglasses. Very nice lines. This is a take-to-lunch/dinner bag and not a casual summer shoulder bag."
